Deposits & Reserving Chicks   Deposits will not be accepted on a chick who is still listed on the Nursery page unless it is marked as 'Accepting Deposit'. All babies listed on the Available page are open for deposit, unless otherwise marked.

In order to hold a specific Cockatiel baby, a deposit of 25% is required. Upon verbal commitment to buy, I will hold a bird for 7 days to give your deposit time to arrive. Deposits are only refundable if something happens with your chick that makes it unsuitable for sale.

If you want to be considered first in line for a particular chick or clutch that has not yet been produced, email me to have your name put on the waiting list for that chick or clutch.

Holding Over/Delivery of Chick   We have found that some are in no hurry to get their new bird home and some birds are well over 6 months old before their new owner decides to retrieve them. Frankly, this logic escapes us; but the following policy has been put in place to address this issue: Purchased or reserved chicks are expected to be picked up within 2 weeks after they are released to go home. Under some circumstances, we will hold a baby longer. Depending on how long you will need your new bird held, we reserve the right to charge a 'Care & Keep' fee. This fee may vary depending on length of stay, and how many birds are being held.

On the other end of the spectrum are those who just can't wait to get their new baby home. :) We understand your excitement, but please know that we will NOT release a baby go to its new home until it is well ready to be on its own. Bringing a new baby home is very exciting and sometimes it is hard to wait but for the health of the chick, we will not release it until we are convinced it is ready for the move. Please be patient, it WILL be worth the wait!

Our Shipping Policy   It is not our policy to ship birds; however, we might consider shipping, depending on distance, time of year/weather, and age of selected birds. We insist on the 'buddy system' when shipping and will not ship 'single' birds. On the other hand, we will not overcrowd a shipping carrier in order to save money. Call us for the current shipping fee; as it will fluctuate with the cost of fuel. The buyer pays actual shipping charges and insurance, the cost of the crate and crate modifications, and a delivery fee to the airport. All birds will ship out of Indianapolis Airport.

As in the past, I will continue to meet within a 100 mile radius of my home town for a minimal delivery fee. I may travel a bit farther, depending on time of year and gas prices. Contact me for details. This is, by far, our preferred method, over shipping, of getting your birds to you.
